As a member of Skagit County ARES, you will be able to help your community by using your Amateur Radio equipment to assist during emergency events. If you would like to become a member of Skagit County ARES, please download and complete the ARES Registration Form. Once you submit your ARES Registration Form, you will be added to the list of ARES members for Skagit County. Your completed ARES Registration Form can be sent via email to KF7CFR@gmail.com.
If you want to go beyond just using your radio during an emergency, you have the option to actively participate in emergency events that are managed by the Skagit County Department of Emergency Management. If you would like to be more involved with emergency communications in Skagit County, you will need to become a registered Skagit County Emergency Worker. For more information about the Skagit County Emergency Worker Program, please click HERE.
If you are interested in becoming a Skagit County Emergency Worker, you must complete and submit the Skagit DEM Emergency Worker Volunteer Application. As an ARES member, when you receive your Emergency Worker Card, you can participate as a member of the Skagit County Auxiliary Communications Service (ACS). In order to participate with ACS, you will need to complete the ACS Supplemental Application and include it with your Emergency Worker Volunteer Application. The Emergency Worker Volunteer Application and the ACS Supplemental Application can be found HERE. For more information about ARES or ACS, please contact Chris Davis KB7CX.
